On Watching a Rainstorm in Wisconsin

The air filled with wet humidity until a North and West wind caused it to squeeze itself out, producing ongoing and alternating curtains of rain followed by sweeping waves on the road, waiting and singing, along with the changing voices and sounds and poundings of the branches and puddles and thunders as the invisible winds pushed trees to dance through their middles and their tops as their boots stayed rooted in the saturated though greening grass.
